created something with curve surface brush that i cant draw on both sides.

I’m still on 4R6
Doing a first timer project just to try learn the different aspects of zbrush. I have tried to troubleshoot for the solution, yet I’m still as stuck as can be.

Used the curve surface brush to create some fins on a head, converted to dynamesh, now after smoothing the fins out i would like to add in some bone structure. However this is where my problem is. As i draw on one side of the mesh, and pull out anything that could be bone structure. It inverts the backside of the fins. As you can see, this can form into a horrible way of making bone structures. To try explain it in picture form, i just took a brush and made the one side stand up a lot so that you can see where the problem is.

I’m also hoping i do not have to cut out the fins and redo them. If this solution is somewhere my troubleshooting did not run across please direct me to the correct area.

i decided to try masking then group by mask so that i could hide the sections and possibly work on only one side at a time. masking has now decided to play a joke on me and is playing “guess where the mask will pop up” off to find this solution.

If I’ve understood your first problem correctly-have you tried turning on BackFace Masking in Auto Masking under the Brush Menu?
