Hello. I have a major newbie question. I know what the CreaseCurve Brush does, but I am not sure why you would ever want to use it.
Hello @Lupus ,
Creasing is necessary to define hard edges that you wish to remain hard edged through the subdivision smoothing process. This is traditionally dependent on your mesh’s topology as crease tags are generally applied to polygroup borders, edges, or open mesh borders. The Crease Curve brush, essentially a combination Slice/Crease brush, is a way to draw a hard creased edge on a mesh regardless of topology. This can be useful for organic meshes you’d like to put a machine perfect hard edge onto that might not otherwise have the topology to support it.
Creasing is also useful in the program for helping to draw Curves. One of the options of the Stroke> Curve Functions> Frame Mesh feature is to auto-draw Curves along any applied creasing. As Curves are highly useful for many different effects, with a little imagination this can add even more utility to the brush.
Thanks SPYNDEL. That really helps.
