Crease + Subdivide no longer protects smoothing on borders

Title says it all :slight_smile: This works in 4R6 , same exact process no longer works in 4R7
Can anyone confirm the same and if a workaround is known ?

I think this is one of many bugs. I read the post for the Mac patch and there will be a patch coming soon to fix a few bugs for both pc and Mac. Not that I’m a Mac user (I try to avoid cults :stuck_out_tongue: ), I find it wise to check patch notes for all versions to see what’s being worked on.

I ran into similar results. I ended up just using zmodeler to add some edge loops and that worked for now.

This is more a deal breaker than it seems. When sculpting game meshes where you need the topology to stay the same but the border edges NOT to move, so they snap with other body parts this is no longer doable. Hope we can figure a workaround that doesn’t involve modifying the topology.

Anyone found a workaround for this yet? it happens on all open edges. Try with just a cylinder with no caps and divide.
