I have a Low-Poly Mesh in Zbrush. For the Hard Edges, I use Crease.
I export the Low-Poly version with SNormals (Smoothed Normals).
When importing the file into Substance Painter, the Creased Edges are gone.
It makes sense, cause the crease seems to be an internal ZBrush operation.
-
However, if I don’t want to create manually Edge Loops, but instead I want to keep and transport the Crease options to my exported .fbx file, how can I do that?
-
Are there any export options I need to consider?
-
Is there a way to tell Zbrush, to use all the Creased Edges and create for those an extra edge loop when exporting?
-
Or any other methods to keep the creased edges?
Otherwise, if I can’t keep the creased edges, this operation is pointless for exporting .fbx files. Because then I do need to remove all the creased edges, and manually create again edge loops anyways.
I hope I am missing something substantial here, and the solution is much easier than I thought.
I also used Bevel (to basically bevel the creased edges).
But after Beveling and Subdividing, the edges break and do not look the same when just using creasing.
Appreciate every little help, info, thoughts, ideas and clarification on that topic.
Thanks and happy pixeling,
cheers
