crash issue with deformation

Hi

I think there’s a crash issue here as below

  1. Draw a object then make Polymesh 3D
  2. Append other object.
  3. Under deformation menu click ‘Unify’ ,'Resym" or “Smart Resym”
  4. Click repeat to other
  5. Press Ctrl + Z to undo.

It crashes after that. I am using Zbrush 2019 and windows 10

Also after the step 2 if I am clicking ‘Smart Resym’ and then press ‘repeat to other’ it crashes as well. Does anyone have same issues as mine??

Confirmed. Steps 1-2 don’t appear to be necessary. It crashes any tool with multiple subtools after the deformation, repeat to other, ctrl-z sequence.

I wouldnt expect the repeat to other action to be undo-able, because it would require undoing changes to inactive subtools, but obviously it shouldn’t crash. Seems like a place for one of those “This action can not be undone” warnings.

Yeah this is something that is annoying me personally since I do a ton of repeat to all operations across multiple subtools all day but thankfully it’s only a problem if you Undo. I can confirm this issue is a thing as well from personal experience.

I cant speak specifically to the Repeat to All function, but operations that affect multiple subtools like that are usually scripts that simply automate the process of switching to each subtool in turn to apply the change. You’d have to write a script specifically to undo those changes in the same manner. There may already be such a script–Marcus may know.

Ctrl-Z only undoes changes to the active subtool, and it is my firm belief you wouldn’t want it any other way. I never want to be able to inadvertently affect an inactive subtool, and then save the file oblivious to a change that may have occurred that can now not be undone.

Be nice not to have an absent minded command crash your session though.
