hi, im thinking of upgrading my destop which happens to be an emachine, its 2 years old and the specs are

Model : eMachines T6520

Type of system: Desktops/Servers Bus Architecture: PCI/PCI Express 16x Hard Drive Bus: Serial ATA, Ultra ATA/133 Native OS: Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 CPU Type: 2.4GHz AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2.4 GHz),1024 MB DDR SDRAM, 200 GB Standard, Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

The good: Great deal for the money; x16 PCI Express slot allows for future graphics upgrades; 1GB of memory; double-layer DVD burner; respectable application performance.

The bad: Fixed configuration; only two DIMM slots; wimpy speakers; grainy DVD playback; eMachines offers only 15-inch LCD panels

note the motherboard was replaced with an faster amd processer due to some repairs. so i concider this laptop a lemon. i have barely used my destop because of some issues with it too. i am going to be a 3d modeler and texturer by profession mostly games and some cinimatic stuff. i am serious about this so for right now i need advice so that i can save up for the right hardware. thanks

get another gig of ram…

and i’m guessing you have onboard graphics…?
I would grab nvidia 7600gt… I have seen them for 80 - 100 bucks…

those 2 things should give you a big increase in performance…

Then you can save for a duo core/8800gt/4gb ram…lol

lol thank you so much, now to find a place to sell ram thats reputable, i want to upgrade my laptop ram lol, 1 gig is so outdated these days =)

here yari this should tell you exactly what you need this should help you in selecting your ram for your laptop and desktop hope it helps you out yari. http://www.crucial.com/#

ty troy nice to see you agian, your an awsome modeler =) that realy helps!

is installing ram yourself risky? i have no computer repair skills lol. ive watched some vids on you tube on how to install it. i will be installing in the laptop first .

thanks

changing ram is less dangerous but similar to making toast. seriously, hell it even locks it self in for you when you push it in all the way. yari try to get your hands on an older pc and strip that baby apart forwards and backwards, once you do that you’ll feel confident to really mod your machine.

hi spaceboy how are you? great comparison i am less heastant now! hope all is well for you and have a happy season! i will order the ram in time, i have to wait for the comp to actually be fixed before i can think about ram[boy it isure is gonna make a dent in my wallet lol!] thank you
