hi, im thinking of upgrading my destop which happens to be an emachine, its 2 years old and the specs are

The good: Great deal for the money; x16 PCI Express slot allows for future graphics upgrades; 1GB of memory; double-layer DVD burner; respectable application performance.
The bad: Fixed configuration; only two DIMM slots; wimpy speakers; grainy DVD playback; eMachines offers only 15-inch LCD panels

now i cant buy a new cpu i just want to know the viablilty of upgrading existing components or outright gutting it to save what i can and have a new machine built with the salvaged parts. all i can do right now is probably upgrade the ram at least. i will be running zbrush on it and various other resource demanding programs like flash, illistraitor, ps, traditional 3d programs, ect. thank you for imput. now im not all to profficent at the technical aspects of computers so thus i need help. im also going to put another ram in my laptop which for kicks has the specs of

note the motherboard was replaced with an faster amd processer due to some repairs. so i concider this laptop a lemon. i have barely used my destop because of some issues with it too. i am going to be a 3d modeler and texturer by profession mostly games and some cinimatic stuff. i am serious about this so for right now i need advice so that i can save up for the right hardware. thanks
