Copy paste uvs problem

I sculpted a mesh zremeshed it brought it into maya UVed it brought it back into zbrush to bake normals i copy paste the uvs onto the original mesh but when i morph uv it it shatters into a bunch of polygons as its morphing then the normal map i bake from that is all individual squares the workaround i know is reprojeecting the detail but if i could copy/paste the uvs correctly it would save alot of time for me what went wrong does anyone know?
