I have a mask on one layer. I need it on another layer. Is there a way to copy it to the other layer?
Thats a good question, sorry I’m no help but would like to know as well. I wish their masking system was more built like photoshop where it acts like a layer and can be used between subtools at times.
Thanks for the reply anyway. I figured out a roundabout clunky way to do it. I made a texture from the alpha then added the texture to the new layer then made a mask from the alpha of the texture.
It worked.
You can also do it this way. Back up your model first!
- Duplicate the layer which has the mask.
- Turn on the layer you want to copy the mask to and store a morph target.
- Turn on the masked layer copy, so that just that and the ‘copy to’ layer are switched on. They must be positioned one above the other, so move if necessary.
- Merge down the two layers.
- Switch on recording for the new merged layer and switch the morph target. This will restore the sculpting.
The mask should have been copied and appear when the layer is in record mode.
Lol that sounds more complicated. I don’t even know what a morph target is.
