Greetings fellow creature lovers. We are a group of media artists from Finland currently working on a ambitious project. What started as our thesis project 1,5 years ago has since exploded into a multimedia spectacle, known as Dr Professor’s Thesis of Evil. We currently have around 20 people working behind the camera, and a cast of around 30 (we got Mario van Peebles for a small role and he also did some voice over work =). The film is done with various techniques, but mostly using a similar technique as seen in motion comics where we shoot the actors as still images in a chroma studio and place them in a 3D environment. As byproducts to the film, a website, a concept art book and an iPhone game are also in development.
Here’s a quick synopsis:
Thesis of Evil is a story of Dr. Professor, the most successful super villain of his time. In a time where super villains are more celebrated than heroes, doing evil has become a huge business. And where there is money, there are always the men in suits pushing paperwork and schedules. Dr Professor finds himself not being the one in control of his own evildoing. A dark comedy set in the world of superheroes, gigantic mutant koalas and death rays.
So why am I telling you all this? I’ve been coming to this forum for nearly 3 years now, crying myself to sleep because the stuff in here is just sick (in an awesome way). Our concepts artists and 3D artists currently have their hands full with creating the settings for the film, and we are in need of a model for a monster. So a few nights back when I was hanging from the clock tower waiting for the director to hit 88mph with his Volkswagen a lightning hit me; what’s the best place to look for the most gifted people in the creature crafting industry, Great Scott!
So here’s what we’re looking for. Before Dr Professor moved into his super hitech lair of evil he was working in his basement, he created his first unholy mutant creature from his own pet chihuahua. The mutant ended up around 170cm/5,5feet with still some resemblance to the little puppy it used to be. Nowadays Dr Professor keeps his first creation suspended in some liquid in the part of his base he calls the memorabilia plateau.
Unfortunately we can’t give out any real cash prizes , since this production is done strictly pro bono, but what we can offer is a t-shirt(!!), credit where it belongs, advertising for your page/portfolio and more work if You’re interested =)
Give it a shot!
