Computer perfomance

Hi,

just a quick question:

Is this computer sufficient for using ZBrush 3 ?:

Intel DualCore 2.8 (2x2MB L2 Cache + DualCore Technologie)
1024 MB DDR2 (PC533 / 64Bit)
250GB HDD SATA 8MB Cache 7200 1/min

nVidia Geforce 7300SE (256 MB Turbo Cache (DSUB /TVOut)

Double Layer DVD-Brenner

Win Vista Home Premium

Can I work with ZBrush 3 with this Computer? Or is it too slow? What would you change then?

Thanks!

Rgds!

That rig shoud be fine although I would add another gig or ram at the very least. (Especially with vista’s memory hogging at times.) You may also want to lok into using readyboost with vista as it does help even more.

Wayne…

That is similar to my office computer and ZBrush runs well. Upgrade to 2 gigs RAM and use Ready Boost. ZBrush likes Ready Boost. It sees it as RAM. I’m using a 4 Gig (the limit for Ready Boost) flash drive and I can set the memory limit at 5 no problems. Graphics Card is not much of an issue with ZBrush. Software based. Vista however is a real Memory Hog and requires a good graphics card. In fact I take my files from my Graphics Machine at home (XP Pro) to the office to render because Ready Boost allows me to go to higher Polys and the renders are faster.
