I’ve been wanting to build myself a computer that can actually handle my Zbrush designs without fear of crashing, as well as use Maya and Max without being jumpy. This set up was suggested to me by a friend and so far seems to stand up but I want to run it by you all before spending the cash for it. I figure you know what the software requires and would know what’s better to have and to avoid. If there is any way to improve on the build I’d appreciate it.
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus P8P67 Deluxe (REV 3.0) ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
G.Skill RipJaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Crucial M4 128GB 25" Solid State Disk
Western Digital 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Seagate Barracuda was recommended to save money)
MSI GeForce GTX 680 2GB Video Card
Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced ATX Full Tower Case
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Corsair 850W Atx12V / EPS12V Power Supply
AsusBC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer
Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit
Still need to find a good monitor but I’m more concerned with getting this all straight so I can start purchasing and putting it together. So far reviews seem good for all parts so I’m hoping someone can either confirm the build or maybe suggest some things to change to improve on it.
And, if anyone has a suggestion for a good monitor that’s not too expensive, I’d love to hear it. Thanks for your time and help everyone.
