I’m just trying to figure out the best way to create a smooth fur-like texture like the ones in the attached images.
Can I achieve this smooth fur look using texture and normal maps?
Or am I better off creating the fur using a Hair n Mod modifier in 3dsmax?
If I create it in ZB, I assume the way to go about it is to make a polypaint texture, using real fur texture maps, and export the texture out as a texture map and normal map.
Will I also have to sculpt the fur pattern into the geometry to get my normals??
Any tips would be great.
