Well, I downloaded and installed the ZB2 demo on the workstations in my lab and here’s the result after two weeks with working with the program. The 3D images were made by my 8th graders. After an introduction to the program, the kids were given Glen Southern’s Space Monkey as their first project. I think he originally wrote it for the earlier version of ZB (1.0 or 1.5), so we had to update it using the commands in v2.
The files were saved out as native ZB2 .psd, which I then popped into GraphicConverter and batched them to jpg, then merged all to one document - so the quality may have suffered in all that translation somewhere.
It’s too bad that there aren’t more simple tutorials out there. I’ve already downloaded the v2 Practical Manual, but a lot of it (about 85-90%) is waayyy above my kids’ heads.
I’m thinking about tackling ZSpheres next, using Ken Brilliant’s(?) Cactus tutorial, followed by his Octopus tutorial. Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide links to other simple tutorials.
