Colossus

Seriously nasty man…
I love it:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Nice model! I’m downloading the movie right now. Looking forward to it helping me make head and tail of ZB3.

I worked with Niwa-san, the man who designed that colossus. An amazingly skilled and fast illustrator, he’s now at work on the sequel to Shadow: the pre-production stuff looks fantastic!

the video is fantastic !!!
The piy a little low res, or ?

Thanks so much for showing your whole process like that. If it was me I probably would have tried modeling the whole thing symmetrically and then posing it, but your way seems much better. I think it made the end result that much more interesting too! Beautiful!

thanks man to show us your work , this is so beautiful ! i was like :grimacing: about 59 min !
great work .

…I have thinking to something
There is any reason to stop to sculpt so the sculptor can make a “double of the world” on its screen!:grimacing:
Just call him for the diner from time to time !
Cool modeling :+1:

That is a great referece Keeper Tutorial.
Great sculpt and watching how you did the ALL the detail:grimacing:

Cool Sculpt mate! I love ‘Colossus’ and this piece is a great 'omage to a wonderfully creative game! Great jorb.

Tore’alos,
Wyrm

very sexy and cool work there dude.

A very inspiring look at how a great sculptor works! Just phenominal work!

good work. i like your work.

Terrific work, very inspiring to see. And the video is great; seeing the workflow is really helping me. :+1:

Just a quick question from a newb, though, what is it you were doing around 25:30? Is that a stencil in Projection Master?

Great work and wonderful vid! Any thing you can show us is deeply appreciated. So… many new tools so… little time  .

Wow, so glad I downloaded the video. It’s awesome to watch you work, and educational! I have even more appreciation for the piece! Awesome!

that stencil is in realtime. you dont need to use projection master for it

yeah, i just intended this thing to be a concept sculpt, so there was no need for symmetry in this case. considering he is non symmetrical to begin with, that just made it that much clearer to me, that i wouldnt need that ability. plus, its just good practice

wicked!. lucky guy.

just thought i would say that i only loosely based it on boss 1, not on any particular colossus in the game.

bro I know this is your thread but I’ve been modeling a Colossus too. Its the 6th Colossus from the game

nice, i like it. now for zbrush to get a hair system in like what you got there

thanks guys.

Oh my you are so good. you seem to be already a master on zbrush3! I love the way you use the subtool to extract parts and the positionning tool seem to be so cool. Since am not a big fan of rigging in maya and at bindskin this make me dream! Very impressive anatomy skills and modelling skills too. I like also the way you use the alpha without stencil and projection master. :+1: :+1:

haha yeah, i wanted to give him somewhat of a dumb puppy face. i mean thats how some of them were in the game. you essentially went around killing innocent puppies.

The video is truly awe inspiring and hypnotic, thank you!!!

10000000 Thanks for your video! :+1: :+1:
Amazing works!

I LOVED the game and your fanart is great!
And thanks a lot for the video ,it was very insightful! (ive never used the flatten brush for modeling, mostly clay brush )

btw
how many total polygons was that scene after you finished modeling?

p.s.
