In the Subtool menu of Tool is there a way to change the background color or intensity of the selected subtool? Right now with my monitor and settings the selected subtool is only a slightly lighter shade of gray. I would like to increase the contrast between the selected subtool and all the others.

In “Preferences > Icolors”, you can change the colors so they contrast more. Change the colors of “Icn1” and “Icn2”.

In addition to what was already mentioned, there is a function that controls the inactive subtool dimming intensity. This can be set in Preferences> Edit> “Inactive Subtool Dimming”. Reducing this to a lower value will result in the inactive subtools being much darker.
