Color fill a layer only. Possible?

It’s me again. Thanks for the patience.

Is it possible to polypaint color fill the sculpts to a layer?

In my case, I have a base mesh which is white, and I added some pebbles (via alpha)on a layer. Now, I’d like my pebbles which I have on this layer to be colored black. Is it possible?

Fill is not available for layers that are empty. But this seems some kind of confusing feature as fill is available for layers in the areas that has been already polypainted in that layer. This means quick color changes for one complex pattern in a layer. For example if you have painted in a layer the top of a mesh red, fill in a layer will change that top part and nothing else.

You can anyway use a big brush and paint everything, that doesn’t take too much time, specially if you disable the tablet pressure to get a uniform color.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Can you tell me what the steps are?

When I tried to use the color>fillLayer, it fills the 2.5D canvas and not the model. If I use color>fillobject, it fills the entire object, not just the layer. And I have used a color to polypaint and sculpt a little on the layer.

thanks

It is fillobject, no filllayer. Filllayer is a 2.5d effect that will switch off the 3d mode.
If you have a layer and you have the layer in recording mode fillobject only will fill the areas that has been painted in that layer. If that doesn’t happen is because you have no layers, recording mode is off or the full layer is polypainted.

Recording mode. Got it. I had it disabled. Thanks!
