color dropper tool

Does Zbrush have a color dropper tool to sample a color onscreen as in image editing applications?

all the color pickers in zb have this feature. Simple click and drag any color box.

Or menu Picker, clic + Shift + drag from the Selector Color to the Canvas

thanks guys

Hello,

On the same subject, is there a Keyboard Hotkey for the colour picker ? When I’m painting I don’t want to have to goto a menu (or floating palette), when I can just hit a key and literally pick the colour.

Of course YES
It’s “C”
As Colors I presume

You can fit it with the Ctrl of the “Smuger tool” who permit to put color on the canvas
Only for lazzy painters

Could anyone please tell me is there also a way to select a value from the displacement and flood or paint with it ? i.e. If I have made a mistake and would like to almost “erase” a certain part of the displace on the geo, how would I go about reverting back to the original model?
Is this possible ?

thanks in advance…

Some “Ctrl + Z” can help you

Apply your displacement map to the model, but make sure that the model has a polygon count to match your original hi-res mesh density. The bottom button in the Displacement menu will allow you to apply the displacements as actual geometry. You can then resume sculpting on the model, and when finished generate a new displacement map.

I also recommend that you check out the Displacement Mapping FAQ. You’ll find this answer and others there already.
