"Close Holes" command problem

hollowed inside.pnghole closed on back but now problems.pngHello everyone.

I have a fish that is hollow on one side and I wanted to make the hollow side closed making the fish solid.

Unfortunately, the “Close Holes” command creates some extra geometry you can see in the yellow boxes.

Is there a cleaner way to close the holes without changing any of the outline of the fish?

Thanks for any advice.

You can use ZModeler. In the Edge options select Close and Concave Hole then click on one of the outer edges.

Thank you. I will try that. I was going to just try and see if those newly creded meshes were there own polygroups and delete them but the mesh is too dense and I think the whole model is still just one polygroup. So your way sounds better.

I’ll report how it goes, thank you.!

It worked perfectly!

Thank you so much. I really really appreciate how you answer questions on this forum. I can’t thank you enough!

Did you have a minute to read my post/question about how to wrap a subtool perfectly around a cylinder? I want to take this fish and force the now flat side around a cylinder without distorting the fish too much. Would the “create insert multi mesh brush” work best for that? I just want a single version of the fish to wrap around a cylinder. It does not have to completely wrap around the entire 360 degrees. So in other words, just as much as it can wrap without distortion.

I wrapped the fish using the arc curve tool from gizmo.
