Clone textures

It’s been a while since I opened Zbrush (years!) so apologies in advance if I’ve missed something obivous…
I’m working on a photogrammetry project. The scan is fine but the texture map is missing small areas that need fixing. I found this tutorial (below) that looks like it should do exactly what I need but it just doesn’t seem to work and I’ve no idea what I’m doing wrong

I import the obj, add the texture to the model (it shows fine)
I then choose the Xtractor brush, press G to grab the texture details from nearby area (as I would in photoshop with the clone stamp tool) but when I go to brush on the required area nothing happens

Is there any other way of cloning textures??

I’m running the latest version of Zbrush on an M1 Macbook Pro

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I also notice, unlike the video, when I release dragged selection after hitting G my Alpha and Texture turn off??

Hello @ziz

The Joseph Drust method doesn’t seem to work in ZBrush 2022.0.5., at least not the way he explains it. Why don’t you just edit the texture in Phototshop? If you have to do it in ZBrush, you could try using Spotlight by first subdividing the subtool so you will get a decent mesh resolution for polypaint. Then convert the texture to polypaint in “Tool > Polypaint > Polypaint From Texture”. Load the texture into Spotlight and do your editing, then when done, convert the polypaint back to a texture in “Tool > Texture Map > Create > New From Polypaint”.

See also Spotlight Dial #27 Clone.

You could also try using Projection Master and paint directly on to the texture.

Thank you so much for your advice
After trying various options I have ended up just using Substance painter - it just works!
