clicking "new from polypaint" creates blank texture

Hey guys,
Quick question: I have a character mesh with UV sets embedded in the OBJ. When I import the model, and polypaint or texture paint (using spotlight) on, say the head, I cannot seem to bake the polypaint to texture for export. I tried clicking on “new from polypaint” under the texture map menu, but it creates a blank white texture.

I must be missing something simple here. Any tips would be greatly appreciated,

I think I may have found a solution to my own question.

When working with a model that has multiple UV sets, it seems you need to split them into separate subtools (by UV), and work on one subtool at a time. Only then was I able to generate a texture from the polypainted surface.

The Multi Map Exporter plugin will export maps for you without you having to split into subtools. Or you can assign polygroups based on the UVs and then show a single group before creating the map.
