Clear Mrgb

I know how to fill an object with material and color, but what if your unhappy with the results and want to clear everything, so that when you change the overall material it gets displayed as if you had never preformed a fill in the first place?

It’s Material Index 0 you are looking for. That’s the material that is by default first assigned to a new object (or new texture map). The unique character of Material Index 0 is that it assumes the identity (like a chameleon) of any other material that is then selected (texture maps too).

To “get back” to where you started, select Material Index 0 - Flat Color - and re-embed it into your model by pressing DRAW:M button and then pressing the COLOR:FillObject button.

If you want to embed the current color and Material Index 0 then you would select DRAW:Mrgb button followed by the COLOR:FillObject button.

Awesome. I can clear the material but having trouble with clearing color information. I think I’m following the instructions properly but something isn’t working right…

The only way to clear the color seems to be to pick a new color, and then you don’t get the full “Chameleon” effect. You get it for material but not for color??

Unlike the material , once a color is embedded in an object, I don’t know of a way to nullify that. Maybe someone else might have an idea.

On the other hand, a quick, temporary way to make both material AND color of the object dynamically change as new materials and colors are selected is to simply unclick the TOOL:Texture:Colorize button.

Maybe in the future or in some zscript maybe. Anyways, thank you very much for the material fix.
