I’ve been working on a face bust. I originally sculpted the face from a sphere and shaped it with a move tool. Then a dyna-meshed it and started using the clay tubes brush with x symmetry on. The problem is when I use the clay tubes brush or even other brushes like standard brush the thickness on either side is different. The left side would be thicker than the right side. How do I fix this problem and get the thickness on both sides the same?
You have a couple of options. You can go to “Tool > Geometry > Modify Topology” and click “Mirror And Weld” or you can go to “Tool > Deformation” and click “Smart ReSym”.
Keep in mind that DynaMesh is intended as a way to get basic forms and should not be considered for fine detail. Once you have a basic form with DynaMesh, you should use ZRemesher to create a mesh with good edge flow and then subdivide that for the details. If you want to maintain accurate symmetry throughout your sculpting, it’s better not to use DynaMesh.
I tried ZRemesher and it worked.
