Finally found some time to put these guys up :slight_smile:

The top image is one of four elf character ZTLs (‘Puddles’) from a series of posters created as a follow-up to an animated sequence for the ‘Chinook Centre’ in Calgary.

I had little time to model, texture and rig these guys for the animation, but had a lot of fun using the new tools in ZBrush 3.1 in the process :smiley:

Hey, atwooki, these are some of the cutest designed elves I’ve seen. My fav,…Sparky, with the smoked-up face. Looking at ‘Flyby, I would think "surfer’, not rocketeer, though. Maybe if there were some rocket pods on the bottom of the board. Love your work as always. 50.

Here’s a couple of WIP studies (more to follow) -

This one is a working base model to get the overall polypainting color balance loosely sussed out - mainly for the skin:

Chris, the head holds up well from all angles,…sometimes, mine don’t. I like the way you ran the beard under the mouth with no mustache, I think that helps his expressiveness. You could really have some fun with these guys. Rich.

Never realy took much interest before in it’s relevance, but is the ‘so-called’ star-rating here only applicable to whether or not the thread-starter
works within a high-profile studio?? (think: fan-boy/ wish I worked there type thing etc) or have I missed the theory here?
I mislead myself, (perhaps) thinking it related to the ‘quality’ of content: thread/artwork thing?

I neglected to include Cam Farn’s (threetails here on ZBC) wonderful concept sketches
from which the elfin characters I built and rigged were originally borne …

I missed this thread, glad that you updated it :slight_smile: These elves look so cute, great poses and texturing. I like the cloth of the 1st two elves, also their props. And I love the Painter’s hat :slight_smile:

I think the rating-system didnt really contribute positively to the development of this forum. Often a thread’s rating is misleading, many threads with great content dont get any rating. It should be restricted to those who comment on the thread. well… thats just my opinion.
