Hello all. As a potential new ZBrush buyer, I was wondering if there are any users in the Chicago area that I’d be able to talk to in regard to their experiences with the product. Thanks!
i live in the suburbs. I recommend buying it but am extremely biased in my love for this program. Am not sure what you mean by experiences with the product. work nights and don’t have a whole lot of time for myself so probably wouldn’t be of much help other than what you see on this forum. Just reading it will tell you a whole lot about the program itself and how great the users are.
I warn ya …if you test drive the demo …you’ll be hooked!
zbrush is totally worth it, also when 2.5 comes out its a free update. zbrush makes 3d fun as all heck. what do you wish to do with it? what projects do you have in mind?
Hi- thanks for the input. I’m a “traditional” sculptor, making copies of my work via typical methods, i.e. silicone molds, urethane castings, etc. I’m thinking of using ZBrush in conjunction with/instead of some of the more standard processes.
Hey, I live right here in the middle of the city. It’d be really nice to meet another zbrush user from around these parts…or even a potential zbrush user. It’s just nice to meet other artists in general.
I don’t want to be too forward, but if you’d like, I can get my laptop out and we can meet somewhere one of these days for coffee and I can show you what zbrush is all about…if you’d like.
Sounds good, although my “free time” is limited to weekends. I live in the burbs, but can meet in the city. Thanks!
I am a user who works in Broadview and Schaumburg. I live in Lockport, but can drive into the city to chat with folks about Zeebrush. I know Joe Seigenthaler also lives in the city and would like to meet a few times. I also have a few of my students from the Illinois Institute of Art who might be interested.
Hey well I could meet up, but only if aminuts shows up too…
This seems great! Well, I’m definately in. …So now, where do we go from here?
Sounds good- I live in Berkeley, but can meet anywhere- weekends are probably the only time, though.
So what do we do now? Do we all plan a weekend to gather together somewhere and show off and discuss zbrush related things ooorrr…? I dunno, help me out here guys.
haha I would love to but at the moment not sure what my schedule is gonna be like. weekends are about the only time as i work nights so if someone sets something up I’ll do my durndest to make it.
live near wis border tho so maybe it would be possible for somewhere in the middle? rosemont maybe or schaumberg something like that? but whatever works for the majority is fine by me.
Well, should we just pick a date (like this weekend?) and see if everyone can make it? Schaumburg sounds like a good location, but I’m open…
Unfortunately, I never learned how to drive (i’m still planning to learn). So if we do decide to meet somewhere that Chicago public transportation can’t get to, I’ll need a ride from a fellow forum member
Nevertheless, Looks like everyone is on board with this though. So now’s the time to start to officially plan things out. I’ll volunteer to take a coordinator role if everyone is ok with that. That also means giving out my number to get things started. Who should I pm my number to first?
I can be reached at 708-547-8568. Tom.
Hey there,
I live 6800N lakefront area, about 1 mile south of Evanston, work about 1 mile south of McCormick Place, close to the lake. I would love to participate in user group!

Haven’t heard from anyone else about setting up a meeting time/place- anyone still interested?
I work at state univ extension campus and I could probably host meetings easily enough. Just need to have an interst and lots of participation…
We have multimedia carts available, auditorium, conference rooms, classrooms, etc…
Is ANYONE else interested???
