Cheap 8x6 Tablet choice (AU) - Will it perform?

I was just wondering with the amazing wealth of experience around, if you think these two tablets would perform ok in Zbrush.

Cheapest First: http://www.geniusnet.com/geniusOnline/online.portal?_nfpb=true&productPortlet_actionOverride=%2Fportlets%2FproductArea%2Fproduct%2FquerySection&_windowLabel=productPortlet&productPortletproductId=341204&productPortletsectionId=341206&_pageLabel=productPage&test=portlet-action
It’s pretty much the cheapest 8x6 tablet here in Australia going for around ~$80AU

Another option: (allthough more expensive, for a cheap tablet) is this Manhattan 8x6 sketchpad tablet (~$110AU) Couldn’t find the website link, this has all the info I think: http://www.techbuy.com.au/p/62007/POINTINGDEVICES_GRAPHICS_TABLETS/Manhattan/default.asp

It would be my first tablet and I am just wondering what the downsides of the cheap price would be? Does the LPI make a big difference?
Thanks for taking the time, I really value the opinions of everyone here

defiently stay away from cordless I know that much.

Never heard of that brand ever So I wont tear it down.
1024 levels of preasure is good though.
I would still go wacom;)

hope that helps

Thankyou cannedmushrooms, what was your problem with wireless? slow response? batteries running out?

Apologies for the bump but I really have no idea about this, does anyone else have input?

ty very much

yes, buy a wacom.

I first bought a cheapo tablet and struggled to find any joy in using it. Technically it does work but the weight of the pen is all wrong, it feels crappy, the batteries run out and it looks cheap.

Once I got my wacom I actually started to use it. It has been pure joy. An investment that I will never look back from and will outlast most if not all the other components in my box. I have a 6x11 which feels massive.

Beg, borrow or steal enough cash to get the wacom - the imatations are just not worth the pain.

BTW - normally I am a cheap skate but there is far to greater difference in the quality and usability. Forget about the tech specs.

Get a Wacom. There’s no other way around it. I once used a genius and thought it was wonderful. I just haven’t tried a wacom at the time. You don’t need a Cintiq or Intuos for Zbrush. (unless you’re going for 9x12) Because it won’t detect tilt or barrel rotation. Their only benefit over graphire is the pressure sensitivity.

Ask any forum. (I have asked this multiple times and I’ve seen this question many times appearing over here) and your answer will unanimously be, get a wacom. There’s no bargaining for it. The graphire cost only a bit more than them cheapo tablets. But what you get is beyond anything you’d ever imagine.
