ZBC is very nicely global :), and night comes first to Japan, Auz and NZ, so maybe some additional chat time could be worked out, maybe over the weekend so people around the world could come and go and mingle across timezones
it’s an IRC chat room, so you would use an IRC client such as mirc or xircon (sorry, I don’t know which IRC client for mac)

another thought: maybe there should be two chat rooms, one for focused technical discussion and one for socializing … I’m thinking this because there are some who have more to teach, and it’s not polite to waste their time if they are teaching
as for the established northam monday night chat, Mentat7 sensei and his paduwan apprentice MTB are both very fluent and knowledgeable, as are other people around our planet of residence
I used to be able to join the Monday night chats, because of my night shifts during that period. But I seldom get a chance to stay up that late anymore. I do however jump in once in a while but never catch anybody there(european day time). Heres hoping the IRC chat picks up again, across all time zones.
Btw, good idea Havran, but I think it would be best to get a stable flow of “chatters” before we divide it up into sections.
The chat room is open 24 hours a day and if you wish to pop in you are more than welcome to do so anytime. Just a thought…since there are SUCH differences in time zones around the world perhaps the friendly people on the other side of the globe would like to start up a European chat seesion in the same chat room? You could post a message here on the community forum and then you all could decide what the best time would be for you to meet. The UK is a good six hours ahead of my time zone so for the most part the UK peeps are in bed by the time we start up here. Nothing says you all couldn’t start during your own time zone. You might even get a few of us over here since not everyone works during the day. Just a thought.

i’m gonna assume that the chatting takes place in american time, so on monday night for an australian, it would be like 6 in the morning or somthing which isn’t exactly monday night chat, hmmm, spose i could try on tuesday morning, do any other australians have luck with this:?: are there any others on my hemisphere of the world :?:
