Character step by step

Hi. I need you help.
How do you make a character from zero to realistic?
I’ve learned the sculpting part, but what are the steps after that?
I saw on the internet that some artists take a snapshot and paint it in photoshop, but i’m not interested in that. I want to have a painted/ textured character in zbrush, so what do i do ?
First i sculpt it in matcap grey (my choice), then what ?

In the end I want to be able to have a picture of my character from any angle and that can be printed on surfaces as large as 2x4 meters.
