Here’s a quick WIP character sculpt I’m making for my portfolio. The base mesh topology is based on a generic low rez model from the excellent Gnomon DVD “Modeling the Human Head” by Kevin Hudson. In addition to sculpting the high res details, I’ve completely modified the shape and character of the head, but some features, such as the ears, owe a lot to the original topology. I know that modifying existing assets is a common practice in production, but I just want to be clear about what’s mine and what’s not.
Any feedback is welcome… I’m in the process of adding a finer level of detail to the skin. I’m not sure if I’ll go all the way and make textures, I may just leave it as a surface sculpt and take the next one further.
