change turntable axis of rotatation

Hi there,
Is there a way to change the axis of rotation of the turntable function in the [Movie] menu?
By default it’s defined by the center of the floor grid, which seems to be placed arbitrarily.
I’m not talking about the orientation of the axis (X-Y-Z), I would just like to be able to offset it, in order to orbit around my character’s hand for example.

Thanks a lot for your help

In ‘Movie > Modifiers’, X-Y-Z-Scrn, right under ‘Spin Frames’ and ‘Spin Cycles’.

I don’t want to change the orientation of the turntable axis. I would just like to offset its position, e.g.: I would like my turntable to orbit around my character’s hand.

You can use ZBrush Timeline feature.

Shot in the dark here. How about moving your model so the point you want to be centered lines up with center of the world(grid)?

zber2:
Do you mean moving the camera by hand? That’s gonna look quite shaky compared to a turntable.

Doug Jones:
Moving the model seems to be the only work around, but it’s a major headache when you’ve got to do this for 30 subtools.
Is there really no other solution?

Not really. ZBrush will render a smooth interpolation between keyframes. Make sure your first and last keyframes are exactly the same if your animation is being looped.

If you use the Deformation subpalette to move 1 subtool, all you have to do is click ‘Repeat To Other’ button at the bottom of the subpalette which will move all the other subtools accordingly.

What I meant to say is that a keyframed turntable will never be as smooth as an procedural one, as Zbrush doesn’t provide a numeric input for camera movements.
However that ‘Repeat To Other’ button will definitely help me do what I want.
Thanks!!

You can also use Transpose Master, which might be a quicker solution.
