how do i change the place where the axis pivots, i am modeling a foot and have hidden the rest of the model, i want to rotate around the legg not the entire body, any suggestions will be great,

Another option is to use Transform>S.Pivot. This sets the pivot point to the center of the visible mesh. C.Pivot then returns you to the model’s geometric center.
