Hi All,
I would like to set Zbrush up in a way that the Camera rotates about the Object Bounding Box (=local turned off) and also with Rotation around Y activated. It should start up this way and give me Dynamesh Sphere already in Edit-Mode instead of having the 2.5D Brushes active.
That’s all probably easy to do but I could not figure out how… All my efforts to save these Parameters in the Zstartup-Document failed. Thanks for your help!
Well the dynamesh sphere part is easy. Load up the sphere, put it in edit mode and then push the “save as startup document” button in the document pallet. Not too sure about how to do the rotation though.
Thanks voododad, that’s what I tried but since 4.0 I do not get this to work any more.
Whenever I reopen I get that Sphere but it’s dropped to the canvas and the 2.5D Tools are active.
Here’s how things work on my machine. After setting a 3D-File as Standard Startup-Document it gets
accepted but Zbrush reopens with this file outside of Edit-Mode. Still happy for any hint…

Record a Macro and get it to run automatically at startup. See my post here on how to do that. If you don’t know how to record a Macro, see Macro Palette.
This is incorrect. “Save As Startup Document” only saves the document size and a snapshot 2.5D image if anything is on the canvas and loads this when ZBrush is started. Saving a document does not save any editable 3D content.
Many thanks zber2! That indeed looks like the solution.
