Central site for public models?

I’m a tech person, not an artist, so would be grateful if anyone could point me to a repository of ZBrush models that have been made available to the general public. I’m not looking for finished models, but ones I can start with and experiment with. Also, any good .obj files specifying simple meshes suitable for starting with a subdivision model would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken McDonald

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such repository. Some ZTools are posted here from time to time, but I don’t even know what search parameters you’d use to isolate the posts in which that happens.

In the meantime, might I recommend getting past your self-imposed “tech person” limitation? The two aren’t mutually exclusive (ask anyone here).

The sooner you’re able to think of yourself as an artist, the more of your remaining lifespan you can spend as one.

Hi

I agree with the previous speaker  and to find all the great free things on this forum use the search engine on it and also browse around and Google for free obj models, the net is full of them. But basically all you need to start modeling in ZB2 is a lowpoly sphere as obj if you wanna make a head or similar mesh quickly with little effort. And to get you started i include a basic low polygon .obj sphere mesh in my post which u can use to scuplt into a head or anything like that

I’ve started a zsphere library. Theres a few free-for-all zsphere models and slowly growing weekly. Just join my yahoo ZBrushers newsletter. Harmless I assure you! I send out a newsletter periodically with a list of links to ZBrush news and Zbrush resources.

Also, seek out modeling ZScripts – they’re all over the place here. Those can show you the whole process, and you’re left at the end with a tool you can save or export for later analysis.
