another problem I cant find a simple answer too.
Im in polypaint mode, trying to use the cavity mask, but its greyed out and wont respond to mouse clicks. see image.
anyidea why? I have been using it this morning on a different subtool, but now it wont seem to switch on for any tool!

What brush do you have selected? It’s possible that the particular brush can’t use the Cavity Mask feature, and so ZBrush is disabling it.
I have tried to use standard, dam_standard, claytubes, displace, move, and pinch…
still frustrated…
had this happen today, it was on a high poly object that i imported as an obj, which meant it had no subdivision levels. i subdivided it once and cavity masking with the brushes was enabled. hope that helps.
thanks… thats sorted it. the tool needed at least 2 divisons.
