Pilou
Yes, Frenchy Pilou. The render engine is superb!
Version 4 will have lots of animation improvements.
Also a Terrain Modeler, Sky Simulation, Sounds Support, Raytraced Depth of Field, Multiple Morph Targets Per Mesh, BVH FBX LWO COB File Import, Network Rendering, Blurry Reflections, Vector Motion Blur, 3D Motion Blur, Transparency in Alpha Channel, etc. Lots of goodies!!!

Yes!!
But can it make toast?
Have Carrara 3, is there a great difference?
Is there a link to Photoshop as do zbrush and Maya 6.
Grateful for your opinion.
Hi bicc39,
I think the new version can make toast.
Yes, C3 and C4 can render to Photoshop files.
If you go to:

You can compare both version.
Like I said on my previous post, lost of new animation features in C4 and other cool stuff.
The renderer rocks !!!
Best Regards

Yes. The hdri renderer in Carrara is fantastic.
I also like vue d`esprit
. Much better than Bryce.
Wow, a lot has changed since I used this program years ago.
This was the program originally from the Bryce/Poser people that allowed you to take a single picture of a building and with a couple clicks make a basic 3D mesh of it, right?
Or am I thinking of another program that starts with a C…?
NM, I’m thinking of Canoma.
I think Adobe purchased canoma.
They probably call it something else now.

Carrara 4 Pro software is priced at US$599, with Carrara 4 Standard at US$299.
I use Carrara 3 but don’t see the need to upgrate, I use it mainly to complement zbrush as a renderer also the vector style out put to swf.
The vertex modeler should improve though, I don’t get it, there is no way to constrain xyz movement in poly modeling in perspective view and the move scale by the little arrow is not friendly at all.
One great feature I like is that you can add new vertex to a uv textured model from zbrush and optimise auv mesh arrangement ti fit the maximun texture area.
The new version upgrade is great for people that want to do more animation. Lots of new animation features in C4.
The C4 Pro version comes with Amapi designer 7 which is better for modeling.
C4 also has NETWORK RENDERING capabilities if you render a lot.
Many new features.
