Has anyone tried Carrara 3 yet? I guess if you pre order it they send you the v3 beta.

Yes,i like the new version a lot,very good new features,like hdri and many more!!
here you can see a test render i made today to check the new hdri feature.i made the model in amapi and a bit in zbrush.i hope you like the little plastic toy. 
so this is just a test render,it can be done better in carrara.
