I know that almost all of you guys here at Zbrush are probably older than me and have jobs doing things with 3d graphics. Im only 13 yrs old (8th grade)and i was wondering if it is really hard to get into the field of 3d graphics. I love drawing and creating different things and it has always been a dream of mine to create a video game ands stuff.Im planning on taking all of the art and programming classes i can. Could someone give me some pointers that would help me to accomplish my dream? thank you

Study EVERY piece of 3D game info you can get your hands on.

Draw (pencil and paper) EVERY CHANCE YOU GET

Get this magazine:

Draw some more. Take every art class you can in highschool.

It is VERY difficult to get a foot in the gaming business.

Remember the Downside:

LONG hours. Unbelieveably LONG hours at deadline. (and since it’s a crazy business, your finished title may not even make it to market)

BUT you can’t beat the dream.

GO FOR IT.

I’ll be glad to give you my first hand experience and those stories of my friends (I have friends writing games, programming, and animating…I have some wild stories)

Shoot me an email if you want a REAL long email full of links and a to do list.
