Cant Zplugin MULTIMAP EXPORTER

Hello all,

I am trying to export something I made into a format that I can use to import into Unity3D.

I am using Zplugin MULTIMAP EXPORTER however when I do that and select Create All Maps, nothing gets created. I’ve attached a screenshot of what my screen shows.

Anyone know a solution? Thanks.trying-to-export-to-unity3d.jpg

It’s difficult to say what might be going wrong - the image you have posted is too small to see if it might be a file name issue, or what settings you are using. Try renaming the subtool to something else and saving to the Desktop. If that doesn’t help please post larger images.

Here’s larger full screenshots:
I’m still not able to perform the export.

Great, thanks that’s very useful.

Does your model have UVs? You won’t get any maps if it hasn’t. And does it have subdivision levels? If not you won’t get a normal map which needs to look at the difference between the lowest and highest subdivision levels.

If all you want to do is import your model as it is into Unity then you may find that the FBX format works OK (use the FBX plugin in the Zplugin palette). That will include the polypaint as vertex color which Unity may be able to read (you will probably need to check the import options for Unity).

Thanks. Thats allowing me to import to Unity3d however the color isn’t working.a.jpgb.jpg

OK. I’m afraid I don’t know Unity so can’t say if there’s anything you need to do to get the color to show up.

Instead try this:

  1. In the Tool>UV Map sub-palette, check that the Delete UV button is greyed out. If it is, press the PUVTiles button in the Tool>UV Map>Create section. This will give your model UVs so that a texture map can be created.

  2. In the Tool>Texture Map sub-palette Create section press the New From Polypaint button. This will create a texture map from the polypaint.

  3. In the Zplugin>FBX ExportImport sub-palette make sure the Embed Maps option is turned on.

Now press the FBX plugin Export button and see if you have better luck in Unity.

HTH,

That worked.

Thank you

Great! You’re welcome.
