Cant Zbrush do this..?

Hey there! Noob question:

If i have an edge, and a polygon attached above it
And another poly attached to the right
And another one attached below

So if i try to do dynamic subdivision it says…

“The mesh contains 1 edge that is shared by more that two polygons.”

sooo… what? if i use the fix mesh option, it dettach some polys and its not what i want.

If i use normal subdivisions instead, it works… Or thats what it seems.

Any info on this please?
I have no troubles doing this in C4D

Yeah, zbrush’s dyn subdivs doesn’t like this kind of topology…

You’re using non-manifold geometry and you shouldn’t really ever need to use it.

Thanks!!

And how should i model something like this then?
(Sorry about the crappy image :D)

Its a shoe.

Things aren’t 2 dimensional. They have depth and 3d programs assume the same thing.

Thank you a lot for the help Sir! I understand it now.

You, -taking the time to explain it to me (with a decent picture not like mine lol)-, are amazing.
