Hey, this is a weird problem I’m having, and it’s kind of got me stumped. =P It’s not related to Zbrush directly, so I figured I’d drop it here. At this point, I’m just about out of ideas.
Awhile back, I tried updating my Nvidia drivers, which caused some issues with general use/Maya/Zbrush everything (Thanks Nvidia). After some hassle, I uninstalled all Nvidia drivers completely, cleaned my drivers, and did a fresh install back to the known working version.
But somewhere along the line (as I am finding out now), Maya 2008 ULTD got corrupted somehow. It works, (intermittantly), but has a lot of scaling issues/display issues, and manages to crash my OpenGL drivers at odd intervals. (Because I have Vista, the drivers will recover, but after that, it will continuously crash every 15 minutes or so of use- and tends to cause Zbrush to crash, too.)
If I use Zbrush without Maya’s crashing the driver, then Zbrush works fine- So I’ve narrowed the problem down to a definitely corrupted Maya Install.
So I tried doing the typical Control panel/Uninstall (note: I have UAC deactivated, so yes, I am technically always ‘running as administrator’)- and the uninstall menu hung at "Gathering information.
Using the Autodesk uninstallation icon produced the same result.
So I tried loading up my disk and doing a Maya 2008 Repair- which also hung.
So now I have no idea how to remove Maya from my system such that I can do a clean install or repair it.
Has anyone else dealt with this/know a way I could go about purging Maya?
