I have been searching the web for the solution, but have had no luck so far. When I add an HDRI image to the Background in the Lighting Menu, I can’t see it unless I render it. After the render, if I touch the viewport, the image disappears. I do have a Background color selected in the Document Menu, so could that be the issue here? Any ideas?
Hello @Missy
ZBrush version? OS?
- If ZBrush 2023, Is Perspective mode disabled? Try enabling that and see if that corrects the problem.
If not applicable…
-
Restart the program and load the dog.zpr from Lightbox, and try to add your background image. Is the problem the same in this file, or does the problem not occur?
-
If the problem does not occur, then the issue is probably related to to a setting in your original file. Restart the program, use the Tool> Load Tools from project feature to pull your geometry into a new scene. If the problem doesn’t happen now, try to re-create your render settings to see if you can identify where the problem starts.

If the issue does happen with the dog file, try using a different image for the background. Try using one of the images that comes with ZBrush. If that image works right but the other does not, please contact ZBrush support and provide the image for examination.

If the problem does happen with the dog file and any image you try to use, please contact ZBrush Support so we can troubleshoot your installation.
Thank you!
