I am going to render a model within Zbrush. On my finished model I have several subtools, each with a different texture and material.
On the red shell layer I added the reflect-red material, then Color>Fill object.
The actual texture(without material) of the model should be white with a few black spots.
Under Polypaint colorize is on. If I turn it off the material AND color disappear.
Under UV map ‘delete map’ is on which shows that I have a UV texture map.
Under texture map the thumbnail appears as totally white and if I press ‘new from polypaint’ the texture map that is seen on the model disappears but the material remains.
If I save the model as a obj only the mtl saves with it and not a bmp texture.
How can I isolate and save the texture( which is just black spots on a white background) as an image file ? I can see the spots on the shell, somewhere that information must be saved unless it is somehow baked into the material.
Here is the tool. It is just a bug’s shell. http://www.larrymccusker.com/test_tool2.zip
The zipped tool is the “red” shell which is a b&w map with a red material.
