Can't Hide selected polygons

I’m creating a polygroup of my models scalp, but when I’m trying to hide the row polygons to the right of the ear, always either just shows hidden, or selects the wrong polygons. Why is this happening? See video for an example

That link goes no where.

Fixed the link, sorry about that.

A couple of things.

  1. Using the select brush will only actually select if you go over a vertex.
  2. If you don’t select anything, then it will invert (which is why you see the flip flop of visible polygons)
  3. When it is hidding the “wrong” polygons, it is because you’re selecting through your mesh and hiding the opposite side polygons. Turn off backface culling (tool>display properties>double) and you’ll see what I mean.

All that said, it is working as intended, you’re just using it wrong :stuck_out_tongue: Not helpful, but useful.

And now. You can always use Zmodeler to set up polygroups by “painting” directly on the polygons.

Awesome, thanks for the explanation. Glad to know how the tool works

I would use ZModeler for that as it is so easy to select polys and make a temporary polygroup.
