Cannot edit model

Hello!

I have extracted a “shirt”-like object from my model, but I am now unable to edit its geometry.
Here is a video:

I can use the Move brush to move the geometry, but smoothing does not work at all.

Does anybody see what I might be doing wrong here?

Thank you!

hi,
Maybe your smooth brush has nothing checked (ADD and/or RGB)

So verify that when you smooth, your add icon is ‘checked’ (in orange), and why not your rgb too. But for smoothing geometry, you should have add ‘checked’.
If not,
just click on shift, and in the same time clic on add icon to activate it.

The video you posted is pretty poor quality and I can’t make out any of the settings. It would be good to know the poly count of your mesh, the standard Smooth Brush effect is less as the polycount increases (works better at lower subdivisions).
There are stronger Smooth Brushes that work great on high subdivisions, you will find them in your Lightbox>Brushes>Smoth folder.

Did you clear the mask on your extracted piece?

I see that you have not the [Zadd or Zsub] Button on ;o)

My model was masked, only the seams where editable.
When I unmasked the entire model, it worked as expected.
