Can you capture height data to alpha ?

Is there a way of capturing a part of a 3d models height into an alpha?

Lets say I just created a really nice looking scar on one side of the characters face, and I now want to copy that scar onto his leg.
Is there a way to capture the scar geometry into an alpha so I can apply it somewhere else?

Adam

Under alpha there is a button called GrabDoc. This should turn whatever is on the screen to height.

So easy!
Thanks

I’m having a GrabDoc issue I was hoping someone could help with - I feel like i’m missing something really obvious with it.

I’m scattering pebbles across the canvas to make tileable textures and when using the GrabDoc alpha it works fine usually, but occasionally one of the pebbles ends up being much higher than others in the canvas and the alpha ends up being disproportionally strong there. Also occasionally, the alpha becomes completely opaque/1-bit alpha but it seems to be related to this height/depth issue.

There was a thread I found showing a picture of the issue (but arrived at when using GrabDoc with a normal model):

When I get the above result, sometimes restarting zbrush after saving the document will fix it, other times it won’t.

Is there some way of controlling or rectifying the relative depth of stuff on the canvas that i’m just missing? doing test GrabDocs every few strokes isn’t much of a solution
