Can the Curve Multi Tube brush draw tapered lines?

I would like to use the Curve Multi Tube to draw tapered lines. Is this possible? I can get the Curve Tube brush to draw tapered lines by using the curve falloff graph on the stroke pallet. But this does not seem to work for the Curve Multi tube brush. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Joe

Hi Joe,

  1. Select the ‘CurveMultiTube’ brush.
  2. Go to Brush>Modifiers and change ‘Mode’ to 0.
  3. Go to Stroke>Curve Mode section and turn off ‘Bend’ and ‘Intensity’ and enable ‘Size’ only.
  4. In the Stroke>Curve Mode section, modify the ‘Curve Falloff’ curve to change the shape of the tubes.

If you want to edit the curve line after you draw it, enable ‘Bend’ in the Stroke>Curve Mode section. Having ‘Bend’ off will allow you to move the whole line/tube at once.

Thank you zber2. But that process seems to turn the Curve Multi Tube into the Curve Tube brush. You can only edit the last drawn stroke. I was hoping to draw out dozens of tapered strokes then go back and edit the start and end points of the strokes. I am getting the idea that Curve Multi Tube = only uniform length strokes.

OK! Sorry! I see what you mean now. Yes, you would think that you should be able to edit the Curve Falloff for that brush too but it seems that you can’t. I think somebody from Pixologic would have to answer that one.

any update on this after so long?

I find myself hoping to be able to apply a tapered profile to multiple strokes at once dynamically using Curve Multi Tube. The Curve Falloff seems to only work on single Curve Tube Brush and not the Multi Tube
