Hi Folks, hope you can help with this incredibly frustrating problem (which I’m sure is very simple!)
Basically I want to map a texture accurately onto a hollow cylindrical tube (like a can of beans label)
However, when I unwrap it in UV master and then flatten it, the UV map is no longer completely rectangular, (it curves at the edges) so I can’t export it to photoshop to apply a prepared texture map label as it won’t fit.
I can see this isn’t a problem with an organic texture, but with a label that has straight lines…how to I apply the texture?
Grateful for any tips and help.
Yours truly, Archerboy
straighten the UV lines in UVmaster using masking.
Also, posting up an image of what you’re getting will probably help as well.
Interesting question… I know accurate UV mapping only from Maya.
Is ZBrush capable to more than only “automated” unwrapping?
You can paint of course where you want or don’t want your seams, but how can I straighten lines?
If there is such a feature hiddn in UVmaster I would be happy to hear…
Thanks…
Masking, transpose line and brushes all work in UVMaster.
thanks…
