Each time I restart ZBrush, I have to re-select it as the external renderer. Is there a way to make this permanent until I want to set it back to not use Keyshot?
Hey.
So I dont know for certain if theres a way to set it to default be on at startup. im not at my computer (work) otherwise id test it. But i have some ideas:
-
go to preferences>config>enable customize. turn that on. while its on go to render and turn on external renderer. once thats on go back to prefrerences>config and disable customize. no in the config menu press store config. I dont know if itll save the external renderer option as on. but it may be worth a try. just be careful not to change anything else on the UI while enable customize is on. or else youll store those changes as well. like i said tho, not sure if that option will save.

the other thing i can think of is a little more complicated. but i find worth dooing. but i cant guide step by step without being in front of my computer. Anyway, what your essentially doing is creating a macro for setup. go to macro>new macro. say yes to initialize zbrush (this will reset everything bascially keep that in mind and save your work before you do this). no every action you take is being recorded. so change the document size, set the background range to 0 etc, however you like it. dont forget to enable external renderer. once your done setting up go back to macro and end it. save it in the zstartup/macro/misc.
now you have a macro button that will setup zbrush the way you like. trick is. theres a source file you can edit in notepad. if you look around the zscripting thread you should find it. if i was at mycomp id look for it for you. i forget where it is. but you can add a line there that basically tells zbrush that once it starts up it immediatly hits that macro. thus setting up your workstation how you like it everytime you open of zbrush. setup takes some time and can be tricky. but once you have this done it makes life so much easier for you.
