What I mean is I would like to use rigging to pose my character, problem is this can’t be done with a high subdivision character. If you lower the sub divisions before rigging you will lose all your character detail after rigging. Is there a way I can use rigging for a high subdivided character and get the detail back onto it after posing?
if you don’t change the point order of the LP mesh when you’re rigging the character you can rig and pose him. Export out the LP mesh and import that over into Zbrush, all of your details and higher subD levels will transfer just fine. Remember that major muscles change during posing though so you’re going to have to rework those areas
Sorry I’m a noob:(. So I lower the subdivision on my detailed model, rigg then pose, then export out of zbrush than import back in?
export out LP from Zbrush.
import into other app for rigging/posing
export out LP from app
open up .ztl or zpr in zbrush
go to LP of mesh enter Edit mode “T”
tool>import (select mesh)
new pose should come through.
step up subD levels and all should be good.
try it a couple of times on a cylinder to make sure you have your workflow down before committing to an entire rig and pose.
You can find that information in the documentation and in this thread.
