Camera Restrictions

I hate to be a pain but I really don’t like the automatic crop feature for the camera. I use Zbrush for mostly architectural scenes and entourage. Normally I end up setting my cameras in Max and never bother setting a camera in Zbrush. I was hoping that this new camera feature would allow me the flexibility to create or at least view a camera inside Zbrush as I work. I was also really excited at the idea of possibly using the shading system with cameras to create some nice shots. But, all this means that I need to get the camera in the scene and really close to the model. This “spherical perimeter” system doesn’t allow for that and that hurts. In fact, for me, it makes the camera feature completely unusable.

So my wish list:

  1. No Auto Crop. Or at least the ability to turn it off.
  2. No “spherical perimeter” limitation. If I want the camera right on top of the geometry and have crazy perspectives, then I would like to be free to do that.
  3. A separate slider for zoom.
  4. Perspective correction sliders.
  5. Some sort of gizmo to indicate where the camera is in the scene.

All that said, I am really glad you guys are starting to put camera options into the software. And the new Zremesher is making a huge difference in my workflow. Thanks guys.

Hi,

it’s been a year and 6 days.
I was debugging camera mismatch between Maya and Zbrush, and came across this, which is exactly what is happening for me.
So is there a solution/workaround?
