Calvin WIP/NURB experiment

The image in blue is my Zbrush file I converted to NURBS. This is the beginning of a whole Calvin and Hobbes project I am doing to demo a new workflow I came up with converting polys to NURBS.

BTW, anyone have a good way to convert triangles to quads?

Here is another model. White model is Zbrush and pink is a shot of an area showing it in Rhino/NURBS with a boolean and wall thickness. Last image is the file imported into Solid Works fully editable. This model started in Zbrush. So to make a long story short, Zbrush to engineering software as usable data retaining sculptural detail. Better examples to come.

Nice work,

What are you using for your mesh -> solids converter/topology tool?

I’ve had a quick look at http://www.geomagic.com/en/ very nifty tool, comes at quite a price tag though.

I have come up with a workaround retopology process on my own because I can afford Goemagic.

BTW, I am not trying to make Calvin and Hobbes maquettes here. I am trying to use Zbrush to make manufacturable toys.

good love the cartoon style

Interesting, how did you convert in NURBS? Can we see some NURBS wires?

Great Job Man!! But you can do that for all kind of models or is only for simple forms?

Bye
